What we collect
We collect two types of information:
Information you provide voluntarily:
- Your email address, if you request a PDF report or sign up for policy reminders
- Calculator inputs such as property value, car value, income, age, and state — entered to generate your Insurance Health Score
Information collected automatically:
- Pages visited, time on site, and general usage patterns (via analytics tools)
- Approximate location at the country/state level (not precise GPS location)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Referring URLs (how you found our site)
We do not collect your full name, phone number, physical address, or any financial account details unless you voluntarily provide them to us by email.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- To generate and display your personalised Insurance Health Score
- To send your requested PDF report to your email address
- To send optional policy review reminders if you've opted in
- To improve the calculator's accuracy and relevance over time
- To understand how people use the site so we can improve it
- To comply with our legal obligations
We will not use your email address to send unsolicited marketing. If you opt in to reminders, you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send.
Third parties
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate CoverLogic:
- Google Analytics — website usage analytics (anonymised)
- Commission Factory — affiliate tracking and commission management
- WordPress / hosting provider — website platform and infrastructure
- Email service provider — for sending PDF reports and reminders
Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and handles data in accordance with applicable law. We do not share personally identifiable information with advertisers or data brokers.
Affiliate links & referral disclosure
CoverLogic may contain links to third-party insurance providers and comparison services. If you click one of these links and purchase a policy, we may earn a referral commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate tracking is handled through Commission Factory. When you click an affiliate link, a cookie may be placed on your device to track whether a purchase was made. This cookie does not contain personally identifiable information.
Our scores and recommendations are not influenced by affiliate relationships. We disclose all commercial relationships in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) requirements around misleading and deceptive conduct.
Data storage & security
Your calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not permanently stored on our servers. We do not retain your property values, income, or risk profile data after your session ends.
Email addresses collected for PDF reports are stored securely with our email service provider and are retained only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they were collected.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. However, no internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our servers are located in Australia or with providers that maintain data in Australian jurisdictions where practicable.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent for email communications at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy rights have been breached

Children
CoverLogic is intended for use by adults making insurance decisions. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 15. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
